Piano and Grand Piano Microphones
The REMIC approach to capturing the piano sound is based on a unique design featuring real pickup character combined with acoustic sound.
The elegant inside mounting of REMIC microphones is gentle, almost invisible, stable and easily reproducible.
Multiple microphones ensure that the full bandwidth of the piano is captured equally and the sound still picked up with the fastest phase synchronisation available in the industry (significantly faster than standard acoustic approaches).
By using multiple microphones with fast synchronisation we ensure the experience of the grand piano as a single natural sound source, both in the recorded version and the amplified version.
The REMIC P6100 and the P6110 Piano Microphones in DUAL and TRIPLE kits are developed for use in upright pianos and for grand pianos.
The Piano microphones are designed for both studio and live productions and delivers a natural sound with clear definition no matter if it is a quiet recording or a noisy stage with multiple other instruments or a loud audience.
The efficient pickup character of the microphones provides bleed suppression, even with an open lid on the piano.
Extreme bleed reduction from loud adjacent instruments can be achieved when using the microphones with closed lid on the piano. This will work without getting echoes or resonance in the recording due to the technology in the microphones.

The REMIC Piano Microphones feature fast magnetic attachment inside the piano on the metal frame (harp).
This allows for fast and repeatable setup, without having to adjust the mounts, which is highly valuable on busy tour travels. From start to a fully ready and tuned setup is achievable in minutes.
As there is no other miking necessary for the piano this solution is ideal for travelling, all packed in a small flight case.
