Near Field Microphones

The REMIC approach to capturing sound in near fields is based on miking with a small form factor microphone mounted on a stand or other positioning device isolated from the instrument itself.

Near field microphones are to be used when no close miking is available or the near field is the preferred solution.

The REMIC small form factor provides the minimum intrusion and distortion. This design features the 8.5 mm (1/3″) diameter of the microphone enclosure. The small dimension real close setup and minimum influence on the frequency characteristics.
At the same time the small form factor is the least visual disturbance to an audience.

Given the small form factor options for mounting the microphone inside an instrument is also possible. Examples are double bass, concerto bass, acoustic bass guitar and bandoneo.

Several versions can be used with wireless transmitters to reduce cable clutter on stage.
