Double Bass Microphones

The REMIC approach to capturing the double bass sound is based on close miking with a small form factor microphone directly attached to the double bass – under the fingerboard, under the bridge or under the tailpiece.

The Double Bass Microphones are designed for studio and live productions and deliver a natural sound with clear definition free from microphone artefacts due to low intrusion in the sound field.
Several REMIC microphones are available to optimize your sound depending on the sonic environment:

• Studio versions are based on an omnidirectional design, based on a measurement class condenser.
• Live Band (LB) versions are based on the unique REMIC Audio FUSION Microphone Technology which combine the isolation of the pickup and the natural acoustic ambience of the condenser microphone

The attachment is achieved with a uniquely designed mount for positioning the microphone in the optimal place for capturing the true sound of the instrument.

This mount is minimally intrusive for artist performance and you will retain the aesthetic appearance of your instrument as well as doing no harm to valuable instruments.
At the same time you achieve maximum repeatability and compact and easy travel.

The mount allows for the maximum artist mobility on stage performances since no stand is required. If complemented with the wireless versions no mobility limitations are imposed.

If you choose a WL6 version for wireless connections, you will be able to connect directly to Shure wireless transmitters. In case you need other wireless systems supported you will have to buy one of the optional adapters.

Note: There are 2 versions of the double bass series, one intended for double basses with 80 mm free height between the soundboard and underside of the fingerboard tip, the other one intended for double basses with free height of 95 mm.
