VICTOR BERKAN, FOH/TECHNICAL DIRECTOR OF THE PRODUCTION “QUEEN SYMPHONIC” USES REMIC MICROPHONES AT THE WORLD FAMOUS ANCIENT GREEK THEATRE ODEON OF HERODES ATTICUS, ATHENS, GREECE
On the 7th of September 2019, REMIC MICROPHONES visited the crossover pop/symphonic production “Queen Symphonic” at the ancient greek theatre Odeon of Herodes Atticus to interview Victor Berkan, the FoH engineer and technical director of the production. He used REMIC MICROPHONES both the instrument specific REMIC studio/live and the LB live models for all strings of the orchestra.
In this video interview, Victor Berkan explains how the mix of electronic instruments and acoustic string instruments are amplified and particularly how he works with a mix of the REMIC studio/live and REMIC LB Live microphones for close miking the string sections of the orchestra.
The REMIC studio/live instrument specific microphones as well as the REMIC LB live microphone models were used in the production depending on how close they were positioned to the PA system. Victor Berkan explains how the details captured with the REMIC instrument specific microphones for strings help him get the full natural impression of the different characteristics of the individual string instruments.
REMIC series used: V5200 for violin, B5201 for viola, C5300 for cello, D5400 for double bass.
