D5401-WLM Studio/Live Microphone for Concerto Bass – for Wireless Systems
The REMIC D5401-WLM supplied with a TA5M connector allows you to connect the REMIC microphone via a variety of adapters to selected SHURE and SENNHEISER wireless transmitters which enables you to gain maximum flexibility to move around on stage during live productions.
It also enabels you to connect the D5400-WLM to a standard XLR wired connection.
Due to the fact that most beltpack wireless transmitters do not provide 48 volt of phantom power nor a balanced input stage, a series of REMIC MICROPHONES have been designed to support wireless systems with unbalanced input circuits and a BIAS voltage of 3 to 8 volt.
The D5401-WLM is based on the same principle as the D5401 Studio/Live model, but is supplied with a different connector – the TA5M multi connector, which allows you to connect your D5401-WLM microphone to a variety of adapters for Shure and Sennheiser wireless systems as well as the standard XLR.
In order to connect to the wireless transmitters, you need to purchase the correct adaptor that lets you connect to one of the following wireless transmitter systems:

Please note that some dynamic non-linearities will occur when using wireless systems in comparison to a wired solution.
MORE ABOUT THE D5401-WLM MODEL:
The REMIC D5401-WLM microphone model is based on the same principle as the normal REMIC D5401 Studio/Live model, only with a different connector and adapted for lower voltage.
The REMIC D5401-WLM Studio/Live model is designed for studio and live productions and delivers a natural and open sound, an extreme accuracy and fast transient response that captures the finest and most delicate overtones of the instrument. It is typically used for moderate amplification in studio or live performance of chamber music, classical repertoire, jazz, folk music and soloists. It has moderate suppression of neighbor instruments and ambient noise.
The microphone will maintain the aesthetic appearance of the instrument towards your audience, since there is no clamps and clips in order to mount and hold the microphone.
The height of the D5401-WLM model is 95 mm and typically fits double basses used in orchestras, where the instruments typically have a higher string tension. The higher string tension is typical for double basses used in orchestras as the bow is used much more for the classical repertoire than in a jazz context for examples. The high string tension means that there is more distance between the stings and the body of the instrument and a taller model of our double bass microphones is needed: The D5401-WLM model for concerto bass.
With Built-In Windshield
The built-in windshield is designed to drastically reduce wind noise in open air performances. The windshield is placed inside the microphone and is therefore invisible and non-removable. With the built-in windshield option, you do not need to add any other windshields to your microphone. The built-in windshield will not change the quality of the microphone in other performance contexts.
